Stand Me Up; Turn Me On – I do love simple but nifty ideas.

Pantone’s Missed Chance – I’d truly love decent cross-platform accurate colour support on the web. Ah well…

Replystreams: The Next Step for Lifestreams – I love the idea of this in concept, but how is it going to avoid being spammed to death?

CSS @ Ten: The Next Big Thing – the lack of font choices on the web is I think the biggest limitation of CSS at the moment.

Welcome to the new Boing Boing! – The redesign is so-so (it’s not exactly exciting) but the addition of comments is both long overdue and very welcome.

Fans urged to boycott Winehouse – I fail to see why her record company has any responsibility in this, any more then anyone else’s employer would have any responsibility.

My Copyright Left Me – it’s been rather obvious for quite a long time that the availability of something for free somewhere does not prevent lots of people paying money for it as well.

Design Decisions: Highrise import – I firmly believe in trying to figure out the easiest, simplest thing to do and doing that first; most of the time new features have unintended effects on how people use your software anyway, so there’s no point planning to far in advance anyway.

iTunes UK video content debuts – I get the feeling they’d been holding out to try and get some better content (BBC maybe?) but decided that they might as well launch without anyway. Nothing available interests me, and the price is too high…

On standards, Web Standards, and “standardistas” – I really respect Jeff, but I firmly disagree with what he’s saying here: there is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to strive for perfection, whether that’s in your markup, design or anything else. Whether you can hit that perfection in the real world is another matter, but you can at least try.

Nokia Takes on iTunes – ‘Tracks will be DRM’d WMA’ – what an utter waste of time; in today’s climate, who still thinks this is a good idea?

Getting rid of the semi-professionals – the greatest thing about the internet is that it can give everyone a voice. That’s also it’s biggest problem.

Nokia’s iPhone—no, seriously – This is just incredible; those boys at Nokia are going to get sued.

NBC Bails on iTunes – Hi! We’re NBC – nice to meet you Apple. We’d really like you to help us screw over our customers!

iTunes Store To Stop Selling NBC Television Shows – Hi NBC! We’re Apple – go fuck yourself, jackass!

Superbad: How to properly steal the design of a website. – it never ceases to amaze me how stupid some people are.

Google Earth’s Hidden Surprise: A Flight Simulator – This is just awesome.

Thoughts on (and pics of) the original Macintosh User Manual – I particularly like ‘scrolling’.

Disconnect – we now have too many music festivals; I’m glad that the bubble might be bursting slightly.

Ben Goldacre vs. Clarion Communications – No, seriously: don’t believe anything you read.

Darth Vader Transformer – this is amazing.

And finally, one of the best ads I’ve seen in ages:
