Alertbox
While Jakob Nielsen is getting a little long in the tooth, Alertbox is still a good read for all things usability related.

Campaign Monitor Blog
All about HTML email, from the makers of probably the best mailout software.

CSS Beauty
Good resource for CSS tips and info.

Dopplr Blog
While obviously focused on product updates to Dopplr (a social travel site), they’re doing so much right at the moment that it’s very much worth reading what they’re up to.

Factory Joe
Chris Messina on all sorts of tpics ranging from OpenID and OAuth to Microformats and Social Software.

GigaOM
I’m including more general industry news sites in here to, as I think any good web developer needs to have a good understanding of the tech world around them. GigaOM is certainly one of the better general tech news sites.

Hicksdesign
Read and pay attention.

Jeff Croft
While is frequently has opinions that differ from mine, Jeff is definitely worth a read.

Mashable
Another good tech news site.

Micro Persuasion
While it may be slightly more marketing based then some of the other sites on this list, it’s worth remembering that a large percentage of web sites are marketing.

Plasticbag.org
Again, not really web development as such but really worth reading. Makes you think etc.
